Odoo Employee Module : Success depends upon employees, it may be a small, medium or large organization. Everything depends upon the employees’ working efficiency, their productivity and many more. Employee profile module is necessary for every organization. It contains every information about every employee in detail. With this Employee module you can not only help to get the information about the employees but also allows your employees to connect with other employees of the organization.
As of now in a pandemic situation every employee working remotely so this module is very important. This module has an ability to manage the business of the corporation on all levels efficiently, and dependability at your fingertips.
In this blog we will discuss each and every parameter of the employee module in V15.
First of all this module should be installed in your database if you want to use this. If this is not installed for you then go to the Odoo apps and install this module from there. Right now this module is installed for me so I will just click on this icon and come to its dashboard.
Above screenshot is the dashboard of the employee module. On this dashboard you can see the various tabs such as Employees, Departments, Reporting and Configuration. This is the kanban view of the employee module. You can see this in the list view also.

In the list view you can see the details of employees such as Name of the Employee, work phone number, email, next activity, next activity dead, Company, Department, Job position and Manager name. You can use filters also to collect information about the particular employee.
If you want to see the detailed information about the employee then click on any of the employee names and you can see all the information related to employees such as job position, Work phone and email, Department under which he/she works, name of the Manager, name of the Coach.
Other than that you can see four tabs such as resume, Work information, Private information and HR settings.
When you click on the resume you can see the resume of the employee which includes Work Experience, Educational Qualifications and Skills. For reference you can see the screenshot below.
When you click on the Work information tab you can see the details such as Work Address and Work Location, name of the Approver regarding Time off, Expenses and Timesheets, Schedule of the employee, Working Hours, Default Planning role, and Planning Roles can also be viewed.
When you click on the private information tab then you can see the information such as address, email, Phone, language, bank account number, citizenship details, marital status, details of the Dependants, Number of childresns, Emergency contact information, Work Permit, Educational details and the distance from work to home can be viewed in this tab. For reference you can see the screenshot below.
When you click on the HR settings you can see the details such as current status of the employee, her first contract date, job position, registration, number of the employee, fleet details, attendance details and timesheet.
In the above screenshot you can see “Launch Plan” And “Claim Car Report” buttons. If you want to launch any new plan with the employee you can click on the “Launch Plan” button. If the employee possesses any fleet owned by the company then you can ask for her the fleet report by clicking on the Claim Car Report”.
You can also see the details of the document shared by the employee, date of the joining, vehicle owned by the company to the employee, attendance, you can see time off taken by employee, planning, leaves and timesheet as highlighted in the screenshot above.
If you want to create a new employee then you can click on the create button. Let’s create a new employee so click on the create button and you will come to the new window. For reference you can see the screenshot below.
You can add a picture also of the employee in the right corner. After filling all the fields click on the save button and this is how you can create a new employee. And after this it will also show with the other listed employees which are already created.
Departments : When you click on the departments tab from the dashboard of the employee module then you will come to the new window which contains the name of the departments.
This is the kanban view of the department tab. Here you can see the details such as the name of the department, Time off request/Allocation request/new applicants/Expense reports of the particular department. When you click on the absence button then you can see the list of the employees who are absent from the particular department. The Absent Employees bar shows how many employees are absent under different departments with the name of the employee and what type of leave and time off they take.
If you want to check the Time off request/Allocation request/new applicants/Expense reports of the Research & Development department. Then click on the Time off request you can see the complete detail about this, for reference you can see the screenshot below.
If you want to check the Allocation request then click on the allocation request you can see the complete detail about this.
This is how you can check the new applicants and expense report of the Research & Development department.
If you want to create a new department then you can create it with the help of the create button.
Reporting : When you click on the reporting tab then you can see the contacts option from the drop down menu. For reference you can see the screenshot below.
You can view the analysis in either Bar chart, Pie chart or Line chart. Above screenshot is the dashboard of the employee analysis.
Analysis can be done on various measures parameters such as Departure employee, new employee, annual employee budget contract, Date last contract ended, duration contract, employee, month of first date of this month, month of last date of this month, wage etc.
In this employee analysis you can see the complete detail about the employee analysis such as Total employee, total contracts, last contract ended, new employee, departure employee, turnover rate, Mean contract duration.
You can also check the department name and the annual employee budget. And you can import this data into the spreadsheet with the help of the “Insert In Spreadsheet” button.
