Odoo Inventory management is the process of keeping track of all the goods your company has in stock. Warehouses are focal points for product and information flow between sources of supply and recipient. One of the most integral parts of your business is inventory management.

In Odoo V15 Inventory module, you are able to reserve full as well as partial packages for particular product category.

• Inventory Revamps

For Odoo15, the makers have upgraded the inventory management by adding novel filters. These will help in locating identical serial codes, negative stocks, etc. They have also included scheduling cycle count features for multiple inventory facilities.

A New Inventory adjustment view is added as a new feature in Odoo V15 Inventory Module. You can track previous product quantities, set new counted quantities, and apply or reset quantity from the tree view.

Unit of Measures (UoM):

Odoo supports several units of measure. The product can be expressed in several units of measure at once. Make sure that all the units of measure used for a product are in the same units of measure category. Odoo has a feature to manage multiple units of measure for sales, purchase, and inventory efficiently. There are many business cases where the purchase is done in bulk to get the price benefits and the same product sale in a different unit of measure.

In Odoo V15 Inventory module, one can now add UoM in particular Units category through Add line in UoM.

Here in this you can define the category for UoM, and then one can define the units.

Now Lets’ See How to Configure Units of Measure (UoM) in Odoo 13:

First of all, you can install the Inventory Module in your database.

To enable the “Unit of Measures” option in order to display the multiple units of measure. So, in the inventory application go to Configuration -> Settings Under the Products application. Search for Unit of Measure and select Some products may be sold/purchased in different units of measure (advanced), then click on Apply. In UoM Category, there are different categories of measurements such as volume, weight, length, etc.

Now go to the Configuration tab and click on the Setting tab.

Now you can click on the Units of measure options to view the predefined units available in the Odoo system as shown in the image below.

Now you can create and configure new units of measure in Odoo.

Warehouse Management

Odoo warehouse management module allows the users to maintain several warehouses and shipping functionality. 

Accessible from the configuration tab of the inventory module, the Odoo warehouse menu allows users to view all business warehouses and create a new one.

With the Odoo 15 version of the Inventory module real time reports based on intricate data have more accessibility and are more efficient in nature.

In the Inventory Module, go to the Configuration tab then click on the Warehouse Management.

In Odoo Inventory Module, you can view and manage your warehouse via click on the warehouse option. Now you can fill following details: Warehouse name, Company, Short name, Address, etc.

Now go to the Configuration tab and click on the Operation type button. In Odoo V15 a new feature is announced into warehouse management called Operation types.

Now you can click on the create button to create new Operation Types. In Odoo V15, you can use the Operation types directly from the dashboard. Operations refer to the different tasks carried out in the warehouse such as receipts, internal transfers, and delivery order.

Click on it to mage the Operations Types. Which will immediately take you to the window as shown in the screenshot given below.

Now you can click on the operations type Click on the operations type you want to configure and Odoo system will give you the configuration space as shown in the screenshot given below.

You can fill the following details like Operation type, Type of Operation, Company, Operation type for Returns, Show detailed Operation, Code, Barcode, Reservation Method, Traceability.

Now you can set the Reservation method. This Reservation methods are categorized into 3 types: At confirmation, Manually or Before Scheduled date.In operation types there are different reservation methods which define how products in the transfer of this operation type should be reserved.
