Inventory Transfers
Odoo Inventory management is the process of keeping track of all the goods your company has in stock. A warehouse is a planned space for the storage and handling of goods and material. Inventory management software is the solution for small manufacturers to optimize their inventory. Warehouse Management System (WMS) enables centralized management of tasks such as tracking inventory levels and stock locations.
In this Blog, you are going to explain “Inventory Transfers: Warehouse-to-Warehouse in Odoo V12”. A Warehouse or Inventory transfer is used to ship items from one warehouse to another. Odoo Inventory management is the part of supply chain management that aims to always have the right products in the right quantity for sale, at the right time.
Now Let’s see how to do inter-warehouses transfers in Odoo:
CONFIGURATION:
Firstly you have to install the Inventory module in your database. At that time you have to select the warehouse in Odoo inventory.
In the Inventory module go to -> Warehouse then tick the Manage several locations per warehouse option and click on Save button.
Creating a new Warehouse:
Now you have to go to Inventory modules click on Configuration -> Warehouse Management -> Warehouses and then create your warehouse by click on create button.
Fill in the following details:
Warehouse Name: Warehouse Mumbai
Short Name. The short name is 5 characters maximum (Wh/Mu). The Short Name is very important as it will occur on your transfer orders and other warehouse documents. It might be smart to use an understandable one (e.g.: WH/[first letters of location]).
At that time after creating the new warehouse, the new operation will be accordingly generated for the warehouse in the dashboard.
Creating a new inventory:
Whenever you create a new warehouse you might already have an existing physical inventory in it. In that case, you have to create an inventory in Odoo, Otherwise, you can skip this step.
In the Inventory application, select . You can then create a new Inventory by clicking on the Create button.
Fill in the following detail like Inventory Reference, Date, Inventory Location, Inventory of, etc.
When all the details have been filled, then click on the ‘validate inventory’ button.
Create an internal transfer:
Now you have to create your internal transfer. Whenever you want to transfer between these warehouses.
From your dashboard, select an internal movement and one warehouse. To do so, click on the Immediate
>>Whenever you choose the Validate option, Odoo will process all quantities to transfer.
>>Whenever you choose Mark as TODOoption, Odoo will put the transfer in Waiting Availability status.
Now you reserve the number of products in your source warehouse by Click on Reserve option.
2. Now you can choose the right transfer order.
